365体育投注 Decolonial Sexuality Studies concentration provides a foundation for understanding how humans form relationships, experience pleasure and the erotic, express the aesthetics of desire, love, and passion, and interact with the sexual resources of their environment. 365体育投注 concentration is available to student enrolled in the following undergraduate programs: BA in Health Arts & Sciences, BA in Sustainability, Individualized BA, BFA in Creative Writing, and BFA in Socially Engaged Art.

Scholars, activists, and artists in this field consider the conditions that have shaped our understanding of sexuality, gender, power, oppression, values, and liberation. It is an interdisciplinary field ranging from gender studies to biology, ethnic studies to public policy, and theology to economics.

Importantly, our Concentration is specifically designed to counter the overwhelming whiteness and Eurocentricity of the sexuality studies field. We welcome students of all backgrounds who yearn to pursue critical studies in sex and sexuality in a pluralistic and socially just, learning community. We’re committed to developing the cultural competence of our students, graduates, and faculty across multiple areas of difference.

Over the course of four semesters, students in the Decolonial Sexuality Studies Concentration complete:

• A statement of focus describing their chosen area within sexuality studies
• A sexual attitude reassessment (SAR) to become more aware of their sexological worldview
• A sexual philosophy project that reflects their area of focus, scholarly and professional influences, and development as Sexuality Studies students

Students also attend workshops, guest presentations, screenings, and other community events at each residency.

Upon successful completion of the Concentration requirements, students will be able to:

• Describe their sexual worldview/philosophy
• Discuss their values, attitudes, and beliefs about a wide range of sexual cultures, expression, and behaviors
• Discuss sexuality using an intersectional, social justice, and ecological lens

Our Sexuality Studies Concentration, housed within the Undergraduate Studies Program, provides a unique opportunity to further integrate studies into an Individualized Bachelor of Arts, a Bachelor of Arts in Health Arts & Sciences, a Bachelor of Arts in Sustainability, a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Creative Writing, or a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Socially Engaged Art.
